Youth courts

Juvenile courts were renamed youth courts in 1992 and deal with people under the age of 18 years old at the time they committed an offence. A child under I 0 cannot be charged with a criminal offence. The general public is barred from youth courts. However, exceptions may be made for people such as victims. Reporters are also entitled to attend.
