Reporting Restrictions on Committal for Trial
The restrictions are made on journalists reporting on
instances where an accused person is being sent for trial by
the magistrates, or reports of adjournments on charges
triable at
crown court. These were brought in to avoid jurors being
influenced by what he might read or hear of the prosecution
case.
